What is CranioSacral Therapy?

CranioSacral Therapy (CST) is a gentle non invasive hands on treatment used to relieve pain, stress and trauma in the body.  It was pioneered in the early 1900's by a young osteopath, Dr William Sutherland and further developed in the 1970's by Osteopathic Physician John E. Upledger after years of clinical testing and research at Michigan State University where he served as professor of biomechanics.

Using  a soft touch the practitioner "listens" to the overall expression of the potency of cerebrospinal fluid throughout the central nervous system and releases any restrictions within the soft tissues, fluids and structures.

Why would I go for a session?

CST is increasingly used as a preventive health measure for its ability to bolster resistance to disease, and it's efficacy in alleviating a wide range of medical problems associated with stress, pain and dysfunction. When our mental, physical and emotional well being become an integral part of our daily routine, we experience better quality of life, and are less likely to suffer medical conditions.
